Hey guys I'm really in a bind. I finished my headswap about a week ago and have been having problems. I had a valve job done and three heli-coils put in the heads. Well I had a nasty header leak which I finally got fixed yesterday. On the test drive out of the shop my car started to misfire horribly. I mean really bad, it was just a dead skip. I got home and let the engine cool down for a couple hours and started troubleshooting. I checked the coil packs and they were fine, checked the plug wires, made sure all the injectors were plugged in, and finally pulled the plugs. Well the three that I had the inserts fixed the heli-coils came out w/ the sparks plugs. I don't know why!! I had anti-seize on all my plugs. I called the guy that works at the machine shop and he said it was something I did because in 35 years he's never had that happen much less all three come out. This guy came very highly recommended by the way. I'm wondering if the heli-coils backing out is causing a compression loss in those cylinders and is causing a misfire?? Please help me out I'm ready to be done w/ all these problems and drive my car!!!

Well I went to the machine shop and the guy agreed that it wasn't anything that I did and he replaced all of the heli-coils. But my car is still misfiring bad!! I don't know what it could be. I'm going to run a compression test today and maybe that will show something.
