PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!

ok guys as all of you know i got my car back. and i know some of you guys are pissed at me cuz i'm selling it. but as much as i dont wanan get rid of it i might have too, but there is a chance i might keep it and get the 99 cobra. my dad said i could keep it if i get it working again. right now it doesn't start it all started when i was driving and my tach stopped working, the speedo. then the other gauges started goin crazy then it started to run like crap and had to rev it to keep it goin. then shortly after it died and know i cant get it started. the interior dome light does not go one when i have my door opened and my windows and door locks dont work. i tryed jumping it with a power box i have and the windows and stuff all works and the car acts like it wants to start but doenst. what could be the problem? could it be the computer? batttery? alternator? i'm lost please help me! thanks guys -Jeff

Being in your situation I would pull the codes and see if anything is stored.??
Did the battery go completley dead?, if not, it may have held the codes...Good place to start anyway....

The dome light, windows, and door locks have nothing to do with the computer...I would say the problem is a little deeper than that...

Check your fuses.... it could be as simple as a pinched harness wire.

I knew there was a reason the car was being sold so quickly.

do u mean the fuses in the engine bay? and when the guy was doin my car and the check engine light came on he scanned the computer and it came up "no code" he said my computer could be messed up and he said u should look into gettin a new one. thanks guys

Sounds like you lost power - gonna have to check the fuse links, fuses and ignition switch over real good!

Check all your fuses.... engine bay and under the dash.

well the stang was jsut picked up by AAA and they are taking back to a shop to get it fixed. i'll let u guys know, thanks guys

What you just described was the same thing that happened to me when my alternator went bad and the battery died. I had to replace both the alternator and battery before the car would run.

Just tryin to help. I dunno if this is necessraily your problem but the guages were a giveway.

i see but i didn't think the speedo and tach would just stop working. thanks for all the replies, my friend jsut called me back and he said it was the alternator. so i should get it back tomororw (i know i said that some other time before lol)

so that means he took your good comp, sold it on ebay, and threw in one he found laying around the shop that they used as a puck to play broom hockey...

so it sounds like u have a little too much money floating around... is the reason ur car stayed in the shop for so long b/c your parents are a little lax when it comes to certain things... i mean, no offence, i wish my parents were rich, i just know some people who aren't as anal as me when it comes to money and would tell their kid to shuttup if it would appease their relationship with another rich friend

No body mentioned ground. Check all your grounds especially under the hood. You have a 306 that means your engine has been out.
