I was driving my 94 gt hard the other night and some sort of coolant (i think) or liquid sprayed on my right foot down by the pedal. The car began beeping at me and my low coolant light came on. The car doesnt overheat too much, it stays right about in the middle mind you I'm going really easy on it and watching my water and coolant levels like craazzzzy. Anyone know what it is or any suggestions because i dont want to spend 65$ on diagnostics test. Can anyone help plz!

Its weird you have coolant on the drivers side, but coolant inside the passenger compartment is usually a VERY bad sign... its a sign of a bad heater core and that is one BITCH of a job to replace. Good luck, I hope its not your heater core...

Check all your hoses and make sure none of them are leaking, especially the heater core hoses.

bypass

had an 86gt vert that blew the heater core while doin 85mph in the fast lane, wow that cab fills with steam quick, anyway, avoided wrecking, took a piece of hose from the trunk and bypassed the cab all together, just clamped the hose from the out to the in on the engine, ( i live in atl ga. i would not recommend this fix for someone in a colder climate)

I had coolant stains on both sides, which i didn't notice until i had a book down there and it got wet...

If you are ok without needing heat then just bypass it.

I replaced my heater core BY MYSELF and that was the first job i had really ever done on my car... it took a good 5-6 hours with the haynes manual (you have to take out the whole dash- which is a major b1tch!!!)

good luck, it's gonna be a b1tch

Yep, my heater core started dripping hot coolant on my foot. So, I just took one off one of the hoses, and used the other to bypass it. It's kinda kinked, but not too bad.

I would do that if you are cheap, or take the car to autozone and find a prebent hose that will work.

THANK YOU!

the heater core is what i thought and was told it would be. The liquid is clear meaning water but mixed with something like coolant, like i'd thought. My cab does fill with steam coming from the defrost vents on the dash so I think we're all right by saying its the heater core. It think I'm just going to by-pass it being as I live in Laredo, Tx and its still in the upper 80's at the end of october and I wont be needing a heater anyways. Thanks everyone, drive hard (when you can)
