well I have decided to change the budget and turn the planning around. Keep in mind I have a stock motor right now in my car. The only thing I have done to the car is 3.73 gear. mac equal length heads, and mac h pipe with flow and dumps.

I was going to keep the 302 stock bottom end block and build the top end of the block by doing this combo. I was going to get some AFR 165 or 185 with a F303 cam 1.7rr and I already have a Edelbrock 5.0 RPM II upper and lower intake with spacer and 70mm bbk throttle body and spacer and spray 150 shot of nitrous. This was my first option but I am kinda of on a budget, I really dont want to spend alot.

Now this is my plan now,the new direction, I am picking up an 306 its has a forged crank, forged i beam rods, 30 over forged pistons..has an new msd pro billet dizzy..gt40p heads with some port and bowl work, nothing extensive by any means..stock oil pan, has a comp cams cam..dont remember the part number..its exactly the same as an f cam. new water pump, stock balancer. its a stock production block.it will have bbk 1 5/8" long tubes for the p heads that will come along with the motor. I will be using the Edelbrock 5.0 RPM II upper and lower intake with spacer and 70mm bbk throttle body and spacer. ALong with BBK underdrive pullies, and spraying 175 shot of NOS it does have stock rr right now but I want to upgrade them. I just dont no what to use for this combo. I would assume 1.6 rr or 1.7 . compression with these heads is 9.4:1. few thousand miles on motor.

I am getting a good deal on the motor cheaper then me buy the afr heads. So I thought the difference in cash can go to upgrading my suspension. I am looking to go mid 11s to low 11s. What you guys think any opinions or advice would help.

Part 2 question.
This set up can either go into a 89 lx.... or a 87 notch which one would you guys recommend the lx has little bit better then stock suspension right now. The notch is completely stock suspension.

i doubt you'll hit low 11s but i guess anythings possible if you reduce enough weight and get the traction... sounds like a good plan... got pics?

with a 175 shot of nitrous, its no doubt going to be in the 11s. get it dialed in good and IMO it'll run 11.5-11.9 the p heads dont get as much credit as they deserve, when ported they can really flow NICE for the price
