Within the past month or so, the amount of "newbie" questions are getting very out of hand. This forum along with 5.0 Talk is being bombarded with repetitive posts which have been answered over and over in the previous days/ weeks. The Mods need to keep an eye out for these particular posts and perform corrective action, such as and recommending the search option...Some of you may not know that our "fellow" stang sites are mocking us becase every questions seem to be about the best exhuast or a shifter. I find myself browsing other sites more and more, simply becuase the amount of 5.0 technical knowledge and exoperience is FAR from where it needs to be.
.....USE THE SEARCH BUTTON!

I am a Noobie to a certain extent and I for one can agree to the topic. There has been alot of exhaust questions, gear questions, etc., in the past couple of weeks. I guess it's mainly because those are the most important things to the younger stang owners. Sometimes that search option takes alot of time though, and I guess some are not patient enough to search. IMHO. though. This is, in no way, a defense to those repetitive questions, but it does provide some type of insight on why it could be the case.

Sirsureshot39 said what had to be said.......This is no joke.... I'm finding the same problem every day, and last week found myself checking out Corral.net It's understandable for new Stangers to ask simple question's but USE the Search option... Plain & Simple.
Thanx Sirsureshot39!

The same topics have been being posted here on Stangnet since I first came to this site in 1999.
I usally just view the topics that seem "new" to me.
but I never mind answering a "newbie" question.

Regarless of your efforts, I don't think you'll be able to stope the droves of repeating questions. I wonder if it would be possible to make the forum do an automatic search for the words contained in the thread title each time one is created. Then give the thread maker the option of reviewing those search results prior to actually creating that thread. THEN if a repeated question is STILL asked well.... Let the Flaming begin. Just a thought.

You guys were all "Noobies" once too, you know? How did you learn? From people who had done it before. Sure, a lot of people are too lazy or non-internet savvy to do a search, but dealing with them is part of using one of the biggest Mustang sites on the Net. If some new guy Googles "Mustang forum" guess what the number two item on the list is. Stangnet. A lot of these guys are new to the hobby and if you blow them off they might end up buying a F-body or a Neon or some other piece of crap because "the people on the Mustang boards are such stuck up jerks". Get over it.

If you want to whine about something that really is annoying, how about all the people that can't spell above a third grade level? Or USE THE CAPS LOCK KEY? Or know the difference between "there", "their" and "they're"? Or what a comma is? That's real ignorance.

I guess I'm a newbie, but I haven't asked what exhaust to use or gears yet! LOL, this is funny though, usually most people, and I'm talking the outside world hear, first thing they ask is what kind of exhaust you running and how much HP? I usually reply, exhaust?, who the **** cares about exhaust, power gains come from the heads, cam etc.....

I don't know, I been on stangnet before but I've been away for about a year and forgot my user ID and password.

Im with this guy.....this has been going on for many many years. Just be glad stangnet has a search feature. It was much worse without it.

Again - if people get tired of the "same-ole" post popping up...and don't have nothing to say that is positive...how bout this one?...Don't say anything at all...

The search function does need to be "upgraded" a bit...alot of the common words you can't search (which spawns the "same-ole" post)...like 373, hot, transmission (to long)...etc...

As stated...we were all newbies once...and some people install their own parts and want personal confirmation to what needs to be done...there will always be questions like this and I don't mind answering those questions either...I think it is better to be positive than negative...agree?

If you don't like the questions...then don't answer them...and they will have to go search...

It is sad in here sometimes. I wish there was a seperate section "Advanced" for people doing more serious mods.

Moderator: how about creating some new sections under "Mustang Tech" like "Exhaust" and "Shifter Selection" etc.... to keep the repeat threads in one spot.

I agree, I have been around since about 98-99 and it has been the same posts. But then again there are always kids(like I was)turning 16 and buying their first mustangs that need help.

I have learned everything i know about my car through this site. So remember when we are bashing noobs all of us at one point in time were one of them, maybe not on the site but we all knew nothing at one point. We do need to get it under control and get people to use the search feature, which is getting but still isn't easy to use sometimes.
