It's real simple...this site would not be a "forum" if people didn't post questions whether old or new...I for one...(if I was a newbie)...would not get a part for my car just based on a search...and I wouldn't do it now...I would ask a question based on my car, how I drive it, how much I drive it...etc...not everybody is the same...and not every car is the same...

Stangnet is appealing to the "younger generation"...like myself...so your going to get newbies...there is no reason to have negative attitudes towards a newbie...wouldn't that be nice if the newbies felt welcome?

Complaining about repetetive questions has been pretty much done to death as well. lol 10holeLX said it best.

Granted, I do agree on how helpful/effective the search function can be.

i agree with using the search button but honestly it's a lil' slackin. i tried to use it the other day on how to adjust my aod tv cable and it would'nt accept the term "tv" so i tried a diferent term only to be told i couldn't search again for 45 seconds. i ended up flip flop'in between 2 different mustang sites till i found out what i needed to know...PB

Well, I guess about everything that can be done to a mustang has been posted at one time or another. So does this mean that from here on out that everyone will be using the search button? lol.

No, because our search function sucks. And, this too is a repetitive post. For those who want to discuss this topic, you don't even need our gay search function to find it- it's perminantly fixed at the top of the list. Additionally, there is nothing technical about this thread, therefore it belongs in TALK. What is this, a new and improved "free post" thread? Well hell, a free post is a free post. Count me in... bump

i have heads for a 454 big block chevy, will these heads fit my 302?
j/k
sorry i had to do it
but in a way he is right. it does get annoying when people want to know how fast and what times they will get with a combo, that they don't even. i feel like saying just put a 200shot of NOS you'll hav enough power with that. lol

I dont really have an opinion about Newbs asking questions because Im more than happy to help. I do have a problem with the technical advice on this site because it sucks. There are a few of us who have or are tackling tranny drops, engine conversions, custom interiors, power adders, and suspension rebuilds, but for the most part nobody here knows anything. And it shows! Ever ask something besides gear opinions or how to adjust my TPS? You'll never get a reply because nobody has an answer and for that I head to Corral where people really have tried real projects on their cars. I dont see what is so hard about working on these cars. Buy some basic tools and start working on your car and stop asking me stupid questions like how much power you'll make. Nobody knows and most people know the answer before they even ask. Do like me and do some legwork. Go to the vendor's site and look up the specs for the part you are interested in, and if that isnt enough call them. Then shop around for the best price, but simple going off the hearsay in this site is stupid and will get you nowhere in a hurry. Thats my 2 cents. I have more but its pointless and I would go on and on.

I will admit the corral has more technically inclined people but just remember noone is making you stay here...if a person doesn't like this site...their not forcing you to come on here everyday

I for one like the site and though I do frequent the corral much more than I used to I understand that stangnet and corral are FORUMS...and they will continue to be...while supplying opinions and information...

far be it for me not to chime in, lol. being somewhat new, not to cars but to the fi 5.0, i can see both sides of this issue, however........
if other sites mock this site or people think it's a beginner type forum thats not because of new people asking newbie questions its because of a lack of more technical projects being undertaken
for example, it just may be for what ever reason there are younger or more new to 5.0 people coming into this forum, not sure but, i think pretty much everything from the bug on the front bumper to the condensation on the exaust tip has been covered in here at one time or another. point being, if theres a lack of more "technical projects" in this forum its just due to the members not new people asking age old questions. if 20 people join tonite and all ask what gears to use, thats not gonna effect something more technical like an engine rebuld, blower install etc. the newbie questions quickly get burried and if theres more popular more technical posts being made those threads will stay alive and not be diluted by the quickly fading newbie posts, in my opinion, if that makes any sense at all. not to mention new people are going to ask more because they are new, maybe are'nt familiar with the forum or search, or maybe don't know the correct technical terms to search with........just my 2 cents.......i used to get sick of my g/f askin me what i wanted for dinner every nite too( after 13 years no less) but such is life....lmao...

although it has seemed to get more repetitive than before, if i have any useful info to share i simply mention the SEARCH option first then finish my statement. the search option does suck, which i and many others have found to be so. maybe a good a old thread delete would be helpful. that way after all this is done again, common words will still perform a search... not sure if that makes since, its late as hell.

FREE POST for me too.
