Everyone always strictly says motorcraft wires and no other aftermarket replacements. Does this include MSD,Taylor Accel, Mallory or is this just directed at cheaper ones?

It only applies to turbo motors and yes. I've heard taylors work for some people.

It must be just a random thing, nothing thats set in stone. I'm runnin the Taylor Sripro 8mm's with Bosh Platinum plugs, on my '84 SVO and have noticed no problems with them, I get a good hot constiant spark..

Yeah, and you're basically completely stock.

Just wait until you turn up the boost or start modding...they will go to ****.

I just dont see how the other brands such as msd and the likes can handle spark duties in serious v8 race engines in the triple digit power numbers, yet not be up to the task of the 2.3.

Honestly I don't either. It seems very odd to me. I just know I've seen people pull MSD's off and put Motorcrafts on to fix a high boost miss problem. I believe the Taylor's are good though.

That sounds like a great excuse to pull the MSD wires off of the girlfriends car and put them on my n/a engine.
