Tomorrow I'll be taking the rear spoiler off and sending it out for paint. My ? is for those of you who removed your spoiler's, what did you guys use to plug the holes in the decklid(if you didn't fill them and re-paint it). And where can I find them? It's just a temporary fix 'til I get the spoiler back from paint. I just want to keep water out of the trunk if it rains.

Thanks GT Jay.

I got some nylon plugs at the local hardware. They were in the nut/bolt aisle in the little plastic boxes where the keep smaller machine screws, etc. They had both natural (off white) and black. I just bought those and one of those little Duplicolor touch up bottles. Looked fine.

two different sizes for my 03 GT too, i've yet to go wingless on my cobra. but i remember buying plugs for a GM and for a Ford which were supposedly for interior pieces or something but worked well for my application.

Yeah, I used two different sizes on my '03. The front holes are smaller than the rear holes, but I don't remember the size. Best thing is to remove the spoiler and measure the diameter of the hole. Whatever that is, just buy a plug of that size for the hole.

I third that with the two different sizes. I just bought some plastic plugs from Kragen or Autozone. Got some touch up from the dealership, slapped that on there. They dont look that bad. I did not get the two different sizes, I just used a bit of silicon gel underneath to make them seal a bit better and not be permanent. Good luck man. I am happy with the wingless look

I figured the hardware store or H/Depot would have something. I'm going to remove the spoiler at the body shop tomorrow morning, the hit the local ACE hardware or H/Depot and see what they got. I'm not to concerned how they look, I just want something to keep water out for a few days til I get it back from the painter. BTW, I'm not going wingsless. I'm having it painted Satin Black like the MACH1's. If I was going to go wingless, I'd do like my buddy did and get a v-6 deck lid off e-bay and have it sprayed white. I like the wingless look, but I think a Satin Black spoiler, with my black bumper letters is going to look Tit$. I'll have to post some pictures when I get it done.

My car was built wingless......if ya wanna see what a wingless GT looks like just look at some pics of an 04 GT 40th anniversary in crimson red. They come standard with no wing. For those of you thinking about removing the spoiler....welcome to the wingless side.....

Wingless rocks .
I plugged my holes with plugs from a auto parts store, and used two sided tape to hold them on,and used touch up paint to match the colour of my stang. This was temporary to make sure this is what i wanted to do.Once i made up my mind,me and a buddy pulled of the decklid once i put the stang in storage for the winter, and had a autobody shop professionally fill the holes, and repaint repaint the decklid .
But my stang being slammed really made the wingless thing look .No regrets!!
