PMS ????---TweeCer ????----Chip????

I went out to get a base tune for my car that I am about to fire up. Well my Diablo chip isnt taking the tune and I call Diablo which by the way is down the road from me and they were like well we cant tell you if its the chip or not we dont have a reader. They refer me to there website where I have to pay them 100 bucks and I have to wait and ship it and this and that.....F:ck them


Anyways I cant start my car without a chip or tuning device since I have 36# inj and 42 # ford MAF.

So my question is what are you guys prefering out there and please dont say any Diablo products.

I have been looking at the Anderson PMS but its pricey and hard to find for our year used. The Tweecer RT is pretty common on here but its out of stock and dont really know much about it. Or should I just do a chip I call Don at Lasota about one but Im waiting on his call.

Give me some of your opinions and experiences and if we are gonna compare use the series 3 PMS to the tweecer since they are cost similar.

I have a series 4 PMS with Interlog and I love it. I had the tweecer many years ago and it seemed more difficult to understand. The PMS is much more user friendly in my opinion. I found just the PMS for $700. It is pricey, however it comes with a base tune that you can build from.

I use tweecer r/t. I wouldn't really want somebody burning me a chip. I don't think I would ever be happy. I never looked at the pms, it cost too much for me.

If you really want a tweecer r/t, just look around. I think somebody on here is selling theirs.

I got my ued PMS 4 series with injector driver (which i don't think i need {YET}im running 42lbs an its recomended after 50lbs) it also came with the 3-bar map sensor for 695 including shipping on ebay.It looks almost new. I think I got a good deal.

I've seen many peeps get good results from both PMS and Tweecer

I think it is important to make sure you know I'm talking about a ...
COMPLETE ... tune which is not only WOT but all other street driving
conditions as well :Word:

The thing about the Tweecer is if you want to get ... REALLY ... into
self tuning and find out why everything works like it does .......

The datalogging allows you to capture and analyze pretty much
everything

I guess you could say those who really like the Tweecer method must
have a bit of geek in em

Over the years I have seen many screen shots of the PMS and there is
no question it is more user friendly than the Tweecer.

Last thought is ...........

No matter what method of self tuning you might choose ..........

You gotta have some basic knowledge of why you would want to
+ or - spark or fuel

Tweecer user here. I am 100% bias to that with what you get in the R/T model.

Don Lasota would be my only choice for a mail order tune without him actually haveing the car.

Really it depends on how much you want to get involved with tuning.

Hey Greg...If you could find a way to get the car to me, we could put the TwEEcer in there just to see if we can get it started..If not, you may want to sell your 36's for about $100 (what I did) and pay a little more for for 42's, OR send the meter in for a recal.

either way is less money and is enough to get the car running....Just a thought

Ok problem solve as far as my MAF, I am going to leave the tune stock for the moment and I picked up an IST air adjuster. I will be able to fine tune my current meter without the chip. It would cost 200 bucks to recal the meter and the adjuster was 189 with the correct connectors for my meter and harness so I dont have to use the pigtail.

I guess in the long run it will simplify the tune aspect with whatever tuning method I use. Thanks for the suggestions.
