Hey guys, i have a 88 Gt aod car with 3.27 gears. It has a headers back exhaust and an explorer intake manifold.

I have read all over online that people describe the engine to have alot of low end torque and runs out of breath up top with a stock cam. My car is the opposite. When I launch the car, it feels like a dog till around 2500 to maybe 3k rpm and then it just pulls like crazy till the crappy aod shifts early into next gear lol I've had the car for over 2 years and have fixed many issues that came with the car.

Does this sound like a electrical or mechanical issue? I highly doubt that it has an aftermarket cam since the idle is pretty smooth. I don't know anyone with a stock fox to compare with. The car also bucks as i come to a stop, not sure if it's related to "power band" issue, but I've read people having those kind of issues with a cammed car with stock converters..

The first thing you'll need to do is pull codes. If you have any, you'll have to fix those FIRST. Secondly,it's an aod car with no gear. You need minimum 3.73 to notice anything.

I haven't had a cel lately but I'll check for any stored codes when I get home from work today.

As far as the gears, i thought I would've been fine with 3.27s compared to the 2.73s. I'll look into that as well, thanks

I had a 92 LX with stock 3.27s,car would just scratch the tires on takeoff. After 3.73s it was two tires on fire.

That is exactly what my car does. It peels out so slowly (probably due to my nitto tires) that it almost doesn't feel like it's peeling out and feels like it's slipping. I had a 2000 Ford Lightning and that sucker definitely let you know when you were scorching the tires from a launch.

Oh well, thanks for the info. I'll invest in some gears after I decide if I want to stay auto or go manual
