Good morning,
I am having issues with my 1993 5.0 ever since adding the TFS heads. It is very sluggish below 3k and if it is sitting idling and I try to rev it with say 1/4 throttle it sputters and revs very slowly until it hits about 3k and then it revs freely. If I let it idle for about 3 minutes and try to rev it at any throttle pressure it will not rev at all. The only remedy to fix the rev is to shut it off and restart it. Before the heads it ran 104 mph in the 1/4 and now it hits 106 so I know something is off.
Stuff I have changed/tried to fix issue:
New TPS sensor and adjusted to correct voltage
Ported lower GT40 intake by TMoss
Bama chip (made it worse, ran better with 16 degrees timing but was still not right)
New MSD coil, new spark plug wires, new cap/rotor and new TFI control module
Verified spark plugs are gapped correctly according to TFS specs
Ran compression test - all cylinders 138-150
New IAC
Ran codes - get 15,66 and 67
Replaced C&L mass air with Pro-M 80mm calibrated for my 30lb injectors
New fuel pressure regulator and replace fuel filter
The mods are the usual: GT40 upper/lower, 70mm throttle body, 80mm Pro-M mass air, K&N with functional ram air through cervinis hood, 30lb injectors, 190lph fuel pump, underdrive pullies, 1 5/8" long tube headers, off road h-pipe, flowmasters, B303 cam and the heads are the Trick Flow TFS-51410010-C01 185cc heads and according to TFS should be close to 9:1 compression with stock pistons and I always run 93 octane. Fuel pressure is set to 39 per Bama instructions.
I am really stumped at this point and feel like I have exhausted every step I can. I have an appointment for a dyno session and custom tune in a week and I also have a new 255lph fuel pump to throw in. Is there anything else I can try or any help at all would be very appreciated. I have taken it to 2 different mechanics and both can't find anything. I just want my baby to run right.
