Port and polishing valves

Does anybody know if it would be worth it to port and polish my intake/exhaust valves? A guy that I work with said he could show me how to do it. How much power would I be adding with this?

Damn that was a fast reply. If I were to do it, about how much power would it add? I know nothing about port and polishing, so I was hoping to get some suggestions and info on it.

My buddy paid 600 to get his ported and you would probably get between 15-25 RWHP with no other changes.

What he said. PM thumper on here and see what he has to say. But ported E7's will seriously hurt you if you if you have a lot of big mods planned in the future.

Huge heads, huge cam, huge intake.. all make power but at a higher rpm levels... ported E7s will drop 3-4 tenths off the ET with head change alone!! there are a lot of 5.0s in the mid to low 12s on ported heads AND some 347s in the 11s on ported E7s..
you CAN see .8-1.1 off with a mild cam and intake change and ported heads... Power adders... well that means you have money to spend ( save NOS) and then just spend away!! I have gone in the 10s with NOS and ported heads... there are , again, a lot of 11 sec 5.0s on ported heads and 125 shot... so, YES!! Porting helps, the degree of improvment depends on the port work...cool?? Get to it!!

Just me..........................

Thumper

PS.. there are 450-500 RWHP on turbos and S/Cs on the streets with AFR's, Trick flows... ect... but they SUX trying to hook all that up in a two car Drag race... you can only do soo much an hook on the street... but hey, bragging 500 HP is cool, .... till a ported head 300HP 5.0 stands your doors on end!! cool?? LOL

Just me..........................

They are the factory stock heads that came on the 5.0 that are performance challenged they don't flow very well E7's are just the casting #
