I have a guy trying to sell me a Positive Traction diff with 3.73 Well it is for a 8.8. Of course I have a 7.5. I already have 3.73 in the open diff. Am I correct that I can not use any portion of this to fit inside my 7.5 rear?

yep won't work.
Keep eyes peeled for traction-loc 7.5 diff or complete 8.8. Now that I now how to set up rears I would rather do just the center section.

Ford Racing sells a 7.5 traction-lok carrier and clutch assembly for around 200. Drop it in and go.

only thing you can use is the axles... those are interchangable... thats pretty much it. if you're gonna go thru the hassle of doing a complete rear end swap... you might as well slap some disc brakes on the rear end as well...
