yes static, the bodyshop's i worked in both used a piece of heavy chain over the exhaust and touching the floor but i guess a piece of wire and some lug nuts would do the same thing. think of it like your powder coating the entire car, the paint molecules will gain a positive charge when they leave the tip of the gun, if you ground the car then they will be attracted to it. it doesn't work quite the same way as powder coating obviously but the effect is similar plus if you get a bunch of overspray hanging in the air or a solvent cloud as it is sometimes called you reduce the chances of becoming a human BBQ.

I understand just what your saying about the static, just never knew this before and it'll be helpfull now in the future.
As for the solvent cloud, I never thought about a static spark igniting that,
I think thats good info for anyone reading this that didn't know that, kinda scarey when you think about that possibility. When I do get a good cloud building I stop shooting till it clears, thats usually why I paint in sections. Thanks for the tips.

Thanks. Someone we know that welds for a living did it. It was part of a "package deal" that included floor pans, patching three torque boxes, the trunk pan and tail light panel. About 4k. The middle pic in the three I quoted is part of the fix. He took the whole thing including the wheelhouse (inner & outter) out. We had bought a take off from another car that included all of it, he pieced together the structural pieces from the two.

67 Drop top

You can click on the pics for the full size effect!

The stance is still off... I need to drop the front about another 3/4 of an inch.

Here is the 289 - she has seen better days; but that is a story for another day:

My gallery -- http://1967stang.com/Gallery/ -- (which needs a lot of work - just like my car). It's amazing how things get put on hold when babies start showing up.

It actually fit prety good except that I had to trim a lot of the top to get it to contour to the bottom of the dash. I'm not quite done with it yet, I need to make a plate or cover to go right under the radio bezel, and I need to heat up the top side pieces so I can bend them in and have it clear the glove box door and ash tray.

I'm debating wether or not I should convert parking brake to the fox parking brake.

I may do this with another console and see if it comes out any nicer seeing as I have a few laying around.

Cool, I've been thinking about doing this in mine for a while now. First I've seen it done. I might run a 4th gen Firebird console for the cup holders though.
