I've been trying to post pics of my mustang and can't seem to figure out how to get them on a new thread. They are already filed on my computer but I'm having trouble posting them on the website. Can any one tell me how to do this? Thanks

This gets asked so often that I've saved a file to paste in when asked.

Here you go

There are two ways:

1. Open an account with a photo hosting service like Photobucket <http://www.photobucket.com/> for example. Upload the photo you want to your online album. It will usually resize the photo or you can easily make it smaller in the edit functions.

When posting on this site and wishing to insert an image:

-open your photo site in another window
-right click on the IMG code of the photo you wish to insert and click copy
-minimize that window
-go to the stangnet reply box and paste the code in your reply

If using Photobucket you won't need to use the "insert image" button in the advanced reply section because the code will already have all the appropriate syntax applied.

2. Upload your image as an attachment.

You are limited in the size of your attatchment and may have to resize before uploading.

You need a certain amount of posts before you can insert images or attatchments, I believe. I think it is 30.

You could always post them on my gallery and link them to here too.

Free and fair amount of space, even resizes the pictures if your lazy like me. :)

Is that 'My gallery' ? Is that a hosting service? I'm lazy too, that autoresize thing would be perfect.

Why can't stangnet do that with attachments? When I post pic in an ad on craigslist.org it does it.

Well, I had some extra space on my server for work so I setup a website mostly for pictures/videos of fast toys like cars, boats cycles etc etc. Really ya just gotta register on the front page and then you can post pics and what not. I kinda did it so I could host my stuff. Its not a serious site, but hey its free and is themed torwards vehicles for the most part. lol cepts dans pics he uploaded. :)

fastboystoys.com I think I have it setup for 30mb for users and 20mb per upload. If your pics are full size it will reduce them but it is still very generous in quality IMO.

Imageshack doesn't charge for its service. You can buy "credits" which allow you to upload more than one image at a time. But if you're ok with just uploading one image at a time (which doesn't take long for reasonably sized pics), then it is free. And I've never received any spam or annoying ad emails from them or because of them.

One tip... if you choose imageshack, make sure you save your original activation link email. Imageshack doesn't have a log-in system and doesn't track where your images for you. If you clear your cache or delete your cookies, the only way to get back to your collection of images is to connect through your original activation link.
