I have chrome American Racing Torq Thrust II on my 65 fastback. I am thinking about powder coating them to a darker gun metal gray. I am looking to have it professionally done. Anyone have any experience with this? Any advice on techniques, costs, colors, coatings, etc. would be greatly appreciated. Also, what are your thoughts...see pics.

We're doing a Model T restoration and I have had nearly every part powder coated. Frame and all. Now, all these parts were sand blasted first, and your powder coat shop will probably tell you they will sand blast your wheels first, then powder coat them. I've found the finish to be extreamly durable and chip resistant, but not indestructable. Not sure how they will stand up to a tire machine when you have the tires mounted.

reardless if the whole wheel is powder coated or just or just the centeer, a good tire shop should have a "touchless" tire machine
