ok im planning on getting some kind of power adder after i fix my rr quarter panel and have a few questions about all that but before the questions let me describe what im working with its an 84 gt with a 306 with k.b. pistons, its got a new crank (unsure of what brand it is, it was in it when i got it) its got a 650 edelbrock carb, bbk full legnth headers, 351 heads, i'll just say its ready for more power to sum it all up...i think, thats 1 reason why im here its got 60,000 miles on it and its real easy to pull the engine so rebuilding it after the power adder or before wouldnt be no real big thing, just a chunk out of my pocket. i would say it has around 400-450hp as it is give or take i havent gotten it to the dyno yet although 1 just opened up around here not too long ago but mostly ricers go there. but anyways i wanted to go with a centrifigual blower but its carbed is that possible? if so who sells them? would i be better off with a roots if so what kind? (i was hoping to keep everything stock as possible on the outside for example i dont want a hellacious blower sticking out of the hood...thats ALL i mean by keeping it stock looking) second i was wanting to run about a 150-200 shot of nitrous on top of all of that JUST FOR BACKUP! i know adding power messes with the life of a motor but how fast would it hurt the motor if i just used the nitrous say 25 times a year on top of the blower? (i dont think i will need it that much but just for an example.) How much gas milage approximately would i get with a cent. blower? i was also thinking of switching it over to a 347 stroker sometime in the future how much hp should i be expecting im wanting to get it in the low 9's high 8's margin (1/4 mile) ive already got a roll cage in it so im all legal there i think. do you think all of what i mentioned could make that happen? (it already runs 7.3's in the 8th with 9.5x28r15 m/t slicks and it has 3.27 gears with an 8.8 swap) i plan on upgrading it to a 9" when/if i tub it out. as for the suspension ive got compitition engineering drag shocks on the rear and i think oem struts up front i plan on replacing front and rear any ideas of what kind? i like the CE's myself but anyways i dont have any power steering (only thing ran from the crank is the altenator) maybe just a list of things i would need would be better but then again that is time consuming so just all the feedback i can get would be much appreciated.
the reason why i want to do all this is because i live in a town with just about nothing but ricers and they're starting to run 10's (1/4) and thats close to what im running, so yes the jealousy has kicked in but with no foul play. they're ruining this town badly i remember when i could cruise and people were so nice and everything and then the rice age came and its not called cruising anymore its called fighting and loitering and starting drama and i just want to TRY and set things straight here so we can all cruise like we all used to. i used to go cruising to find everybody begging me to fire up the mustang and get it in the air on street tires and when i did they would all give me thumbs up and what not but its gotten to the point to where they're has been so much drama that there is a cop on just about every corner on the street we cruise here it is ridiculus there's no fun in it anymore. and when you beat a ricer, they want to flip you off and throw a temper tantrum cause you took there money. im not blaming it all on them but i didnt really notice it until i started seeing rice everywhere and im not trying to put them down cause they're good competition, well, i wouldnt say good ok nevermind let me rephrase all of that, the majority is easy compitition so that equals easy money which is a good thing (for me) so i guess i do consider it good competition. and why they all have to lie and say they're not running "naws" is beyond me i figured its time for me to stand up and own them all (very highly impossible the way thing are going here). i havent had the stang on the streets since december when a semi smashed into the rr but i still get people asking about it and what not and i just miss that feeling and need to bring it all back.
