Anyone know where to find a rivet gun that can support that size rivet? I bought the rivets from 50resto that hold the acuators but I have been at a loss for finding a gun/handtool that can install that rivet. I don't even know what size they are or how to measure them?

Also if you have done these before what is the hardest thing to do?.. Is there anything I should look out for / prepare for?

I'm kinda desperate at getting these in soon since my door locks are frozen in the unlock position right now. I also have to leave my car in a public parking lot far, far away from the rest of the world for 6-7 hours a day so its kind of a big deal to me. Help!

The rivets are 1/4", and you need a special monster rivet gun to use them. You can use a 1/4" stainless steel machine screw & self locking nut instead of a rivet.

I hope you didn't spend $50 to get the actuator replacements. I can show you how to get a new actuator for less than $5. Fix one side for $19, do both sides for only $25. I don't sell parts, I don’t make any money off of the upgrade, I just tell you how to do it cheaply and easily.

Follow this link to fix your door lock actuator problems http://bellsouthpwp.net/l/r/lrichker/Mustang_tech/door_actuator_fix/1_of_8_door_actuator.htm

I got a pair of stock ones for cheap brand new in the packages so i'm going to go with those... It appears from your walk thru that if I don't drill out the rivet and leave the mounting bracket in there then I should be able to just pop the acuator in to the original mounting bracket from the bottom... So eliminating the need to mess with the rivet? Or am I reading this wrong?

You are correct.

A little twist and shout will do it.

Thanks for the help.

Now if it would only stop raining I could do my other door too but atleast that one still locks and works by power when it wants to
