Recently bought a 02 v6 and the only thing I don't like is the lack of power seats. Found a place to buy brand new seats with the seat tracks and everything. I was just wondering if it would be easy to just hook them up or if I would need alot of new wiring to get the power seat running. Any help would be appreciated.

It would take alot of wiring and work and the like. Same goes for power locks/windows/mirrors. Too difficult to bother with.

Well that kinda put a damper on things. Any other opinions? would be paying ~250 with shipping for brand new seats. (mine were stained when I bought the car)

Check with local junkyards, see if you can't swipe some seats from a junked 'stang for real cheap.

I really don't see how much harder it would be to put in power seats. All the seat will need is a power source to power the seats. Granted, you are putting in power seats from the same exact year mustang.

I can see how putting in power locks and windows would be a pain since you would need the motor, actuators, etc.

Iunno, you could be right, it could be easy. I haven't really looked into it. I fear dealing with wires. Anything much beyond hooking up speakers or changing a switch would be too much for me... not that I wouldn't try to do it myself anyway...

Well in regards to it being the same year, the seats are from a 03 a I have a 02. Would it make too much of a differnce?

I wouldn't think so, go for it! Just know that you are gonna lose any space under the seat you might be using. But otherwise, power it away!

Your car may already be equipped with the wiring. I bought some leather cobra seats from a car show and they bolted in and hooked up no problem

All most year seats require is a power + ground. Which is pretty easy to do some model years are even "Max wired" and already have the connections waiting to go.

<-- Actually ditching the power seats soon to get rid of the extra weight that and they break often.
