Power Steering Delete to Manual Rack

hmm, I really like the idea of connecting the two hoses and leaving a small amount of fluid in there for lube. I have heard a few stories of people ruining their racks by just taking off the pump and draining it...

I also am glad to hear that rdksek844 is having a fine time with no ps on 165's..I myself have 165/60/15's....guess I might try that this weekend.

I have a manual rack on my car. I drive it every day! I have had it on for about a year and a half now and I like it a lot. I have Pony rims with 225-50-16's and it's not bad at all. A little effort when in parking lots under 5 MPH but not bad. When I put skinnies on it is effortless. I got my rack from Discount Auto Parts for $110.00. I just ordered A factory manual rack for a 79-81 Mustang. I got the adapter flange from a friend but you can just get one from Ford. I just ran a shorter belt.

welp, I figured out that the hose was basically unrepairable and after I went to 3 stores I finally found a place that could get it and had it in stock, so I put it on in the freezing cold NY weather today, I must say that it was a real PITA getting that hose (pressure hose) to screw into bottom part under motor mount on drivers side....finally got it in though and after tightening up the other hose and cleaning off the fluid and putting in some new fluid I was the proud owner of a mustang with power steering once again :) all I have to say is DAMN I LOVE MY POWER STEERING and I run 12.40's n/a with my a/c and p/s ;)
