Hello, I am having some problems with my power steering pump. I have a 351 with a ATI Procharger, so the power steering pump is located below the alternator on the passenger side. I am having some clearance issues with the bracket and power steering pump being too close to the sway bar bracket connected to the frame. My question is... are there any small power steering pump units out there that would work with my steering system? It's just a normal 89 steering system with stock power steering unit and everything. Custom building a bracket wouldn't be too big of a deal, but I just want a smaller pump that would fit in there without causing issues. Would any pump work, or are there certain requirements? And from what vehicles are the pumps smaller? thanks!

Just an idea, but since building a bracket isn't an issue for you, how about using a newer pump with a seperate reservoir. That way the unit itself will be smaller. You would just have to route the lines a little different.

Not sure what years, but I have seen some with external reservoirs. You might also want to look at one of the mod motor pumps, they may be smaller also and adaptable.
