ok some fab stuff right here??? my idea is to put a new roller 5.0 engine without efi into my 68 with all the pulley's and brakets and belt. has anybody ever used a the newer power steering pump on the orginal 68 mustang factory stuff. I'm sure i would have to get some kind of fitting for the high pressure hose on the new pump to put the older hose to it..

Yup, you will, but the best way is to have a hydrolic shop just join the two pressure hoses for you. I went the fitting route, and the parts ended up costing me what the shop would have charged me.

Besides, the hard line that attaches to the pump on the 5.0 is different from how the 68's hard line is bent so it puts a tough bend in the hose.

I will be getting the hydrolic shop to merge the old to the new in the spring. I just don't like that I had to use 2 fittings to addapt. (too many spots for leaks... although power steering hoses NEVER leak :rlaugh:)

I've done this. All you need is a 90 cent double male fitting from the hardware store to adapt the pressure line fitting on the pump to the stock Mustang pressure line. They are both the same size, they are also both female. I've done this on 2 cars already and never had any issues with it. The hardest part was bending the hardline piece which I only had to do on 1 of the two cars.
