I blew my power steering pump the other day. I know that the p/s pump serves a double purpose as a brake booster too. And i was wondering if anyone knew if there is brake fluid in the line that goes to the p/s pump or is it just a vaccum type thing. Any pics or tech pages will help.

Since the Power steering and brake resevoirs are separate they are independant of each other. The brake booster for my car is also independant from the PS pump...what year is your car? I don't think that hs changed.

basically the power steering pump creates pressure in the brake booster that simulates vacuum. its a hydroboost system. the 2 fluids are completely seperate, although when replacing anything in the power steering system, you will have to bleed the hydroboost (there is a bleeder on the top of it).
