well last night i was driving back from work and i herd my power steering pump whining. i thought that was odd because i just put some fluid in about two days ago. so today i drove by the parts store and put about two quarts in!. i drive to work, on the way home it starts whining again! so i got home and parked it. i look under the car (car still running) and power steering fluid is literally spraying out of the fitting where the pressure hose connects to the control valve. so i take a look and there is a small slit in the hose. i cut the hose and slid a little more down and over the copper rodding. i crank it up again and it starts dripping from the fitting taht connects to the control valve again. so i shut it off. i unscrew the hose from the control valve and the hose is a little worn onthe top. i put some teflon around the valve to see if that helps and sure enough it didnt. so i put the car on some jack stands so i could really see what was going on. the fluid is comming out the inside of the fitting that slides over the copper rodding. so im thinking maybe the hose is bad? so i ordered a new pressure hose and it should be in tomorrow around noon.hopfully that will fix my problems. i dont think the control valve is bad, it didnt look like the valve, just the hose and fitting..
any thoughts on this?
