My car (90 5.0) was seeming like it was missing every now and then for about a week. Then one day it didnt start till the 3rd try and was wanting to stall on the way home. Got home checked everything, all fine. To make a long story short, after having it break down again(and again) found it wasn’t getting spark. The coil had power coming to it so I changed the coil, then put the old coil back on just to see if that was it, but it ran fine. The connector to the coil was all worn out so I changed that, ran fine for a day or 2 then it broke down again. I ran a wire straight from the battery to the coil and it ran fine. Been driving it like that for 3 days now.
Im guessing that it’s a bad connection or a short in the wiring coming to the coil. Before I start going through all that I just want to make sure there is nothing else it could be. Also does anyone know where I can get a good wiring diagram?
I hate random problems, every time they pop up Im on the side of the rd in the middle of nowhere (with no cell service) with nothing to diagnose it!! I had to cut the wire to my alarm speaker and use it to get home the other day.
