Hi, I'm usually in the classic Mustang forum. We have an issue with the driver side power window on our 1997 Cobra convertible. I figured this would be more commone to all Mustangs so that is why I posted here and not in the SVT forum.

Here is our problem. We also just put in a new power window motor and that didn't totally fix it. When rolling the window up it acts like it doesn't want to stop when its up all the way and pops. It does roll up and down better thanks to the new motor, but that only fixed half of the problem.

Any thoughts?

Aaaaahh, the infamous mustang power window problems. You replaced just the motor? Did you make sure it was put in in the right position? Also, what kind of shape is the regulator in? I would try a new switch first.

Its not the switch. That works just fine.

The motor is positioned facing downward. Thats how the original one was.

The regulator looks like the last few teeth are kind of buggered up. Why would they get messed up.

Do you think this is causing the problem? My Dad and I think it is.

Does anyone know where I can get a window regulator? If so, how do I make sure I'm getting the right one?

For those that are interested, we picked up a driver side window regulator at the local Ford dealership today for less than 100 bucks and it came with a motor.
