I've tried searching and didn't find anything specific. But...can anyone tell me a good spot to put a amp power line through the firewall on my 04GT. Usually I drill a hole through the plate covering the factory cut-out for a clutch pedal...but since I now have a stick...this won't work. I'd rather not drill another hole in the firewall if I don't have to. So I thought I'd see what other people have done, so I can learn from your mistakes instead of my own.

Pictures are always welcome. Thanks!

There is also a grommet on the passenger side hidden behind some things it is almost impossible to get to from inside the car too the blower box is between the firewall and the compartment but with a lil work you can get it out and get stuff through there. like I don't know maybe a nitrous line and an amp power wire. :D
BTW it is much eaiser to push it through from engine bay and the carpet padding is in the way but a quick x on the padding a viola.

I fit my 0 Gauge through the above gromet on the drivers side. Was not easy, but worked.

I forget if I fed it from the inside out or vice-versa.

I think I stuck a screwdriver through the hole, and fed the wire from the inside out.

I dont mean to make this sound so offensive.. but what are you running "0" gauge wire to? It doesn't appear that you have anything that requires such a huge wire..?

Wowsa's thats a big wire.

Thanks for the info guys...gonna drop my system in as soon as I can get another amp wire kit (might as well leave it in my other car just in case it gets another system...and for 50 bucks I'd rather buy a new one than take apart the interior just to take out wires!).

Not to beat a dead horse here, but from what I saw in my car based on what the suggestions were....one grommet (nothing passing through) on passenger side, looked to be behind the A/C cylinder? The other is a big fat grommet with things already passing through it. Looked like it would be easier to just use the passenger side one.

So...passenger side one, did you guys just poke a hole in it, then pass your wire through? Does this stay sealed well enough? Did you just route your power wire along the firewall trim and around the back, or did you go straight to the front of the car, then over?

For the other grommet, do you just pull the grommet off, or try to route the power wire through along with the other wires already going through, looks pretty tight on this spot.

Any engine bay pics?

My new headunit and amp kit comes tomorrow and its supposed to snow here, so I'm thinking snowday and no work on Friday...which means I'll be busy on the car. But I like to be ready so I don't hit a snag and have to come back inside and ask the Stangnet crew!

Thanks!
