powermaster alternator wire route

what is the best way to run the power wire from the alt to the battery or the senoid. i looked and i have to run a 4 gauge wire to the alt then across the engine to the battery or starter senoid. whats the best way to do this i was thinking across the front of the radiator but not sure any have some pic so i can get some ideas'

Heat will increase resistance so you want to keep the wire away from heat sourced.

I ran mine into the fender and and into the front bumper under the headlights and across to the other fender and then poked it out of the windshield washer fluid hole.

damn i will have to get a lot of wire. i was thinking about getting the kit from summit or jegs. did u hook up yours to the senoid or battery. i went to autozone looking around but dont want to piece it together. i will have to cut the battery wire and run the fuse in the middle of the wire i dont want a electrical fire

I ran mine over the top of the radiator (in the groove).

i looked at my wire harness and i only have 2 wires on the harness do i use both of them or one. on the alt itself it has 2 prongs should i use both wires or just the one

Huh?

Does the alternator have a charge *stud*? What kind of power does the alt put out? Almost without exception I would run a new power wire. Then the only other connection one-wires generally have (which is optional) is to use a remote-turn on so the alt doesn't have to self-excite.

it has a power wire and a two prong clip on the back next to power wire its a powermaster 100 amp

its says i need to run a 10awg standard wire from the alt to the pos side battery, and if the vehicle has a external volt regulator this should be unplug. then it says its a one wire alt and needs only the battery cable to operate. so with all this said i dont need to cut the alt green wire on the harness and put on the powermaster alt. : right

I ran mine throught he radiator support. Keeps it away from heat and out of the way.

If this alt puts out less power than the stock alternator, I'd not use a 10 AWG wire. 4 AWG should safely cover you for most 3G's (if you start getting near 200 amps, it's time to step up again).

If you wire it as a true one-wire, you dont touch the OEM wiring period. You can insulate the connectors and tuck them out of the way, and you can even disconnect the OEM harness at the solenoid.

If the alt has a provision to be non-self-excited, then you'd use the lt grn/red wire to accomplish that. This would be optional.
