Are you using the fact that it's got an aluminum crossover tube as your clue? I think the non-PI intake manifolds, in some varieties (probably a revision made to prevent cracking), come with aluminum crossovers.

The REAL way to tell if it's a PI or non-PI, in my opinion, is to remove the lower intake manifold and look at the shape of the ports. If they are teardrop shaped, then it's a non-PI manifold. If it's more diamond-rectangular shaped, then it's a PI intake manifold.

its npi....the first intake runner after the coolant crossover goes to the passenger side on NPI and to the drivers side on PI.

It also doesn't look like it had to be tapped for the second coolent sensor. Looks like it came with it already. It's NPI...

It was probably cracked at one time and replaced. The newer NPI intakes had the upgraded crossover.

Look at how deep it sits in the cylinder valley. If the heater hose runs directly underneath the manifold or the manifold leaves plenty of room between the bottom of it and the top of the cylinder valley, its a NPI. If it's a tight fit and the coolant tube runs along the side, it's a PI. My guess is that it's an NPI with Aluminum crossover.

I forget, but I have mentioned it before, all plastic PI( Mustang, Crown Vic, Explorer, etc ) intakes first runner goes to one side, the NPI's first runner goes to the other side. Which side they go to, I don't recall, and Stangnet's search function is not that great to help me out and find my old posts on that. That all said, that is the easiest way to tell. That and how deep the intake sits in the valley. If there is an obvious space, NPI, hardly any space PI. Looking at the pictures of the valley, I would say NPI.

NPI intakes that cracked were replaced with aluminum crossover versions of the NPI intake, both are still availible through ford..

Your car probally has a ford replacement parts aluminum crossover NPI intake.

Just for your information the 99-01.5 mustang gt came with a plastic crossover PI intake.

Yeah it would be nice if they gave out PI intakes, but ford just cares about fixing the car not modding it.

BTW I think you should change the colors of the writing in your sig, you can't read it with the basic forum skin.
