Ok i don't really know all that much about the mustang so try to kind of explain this as if i was about 3 years ould if you can help me with this

I'm thinking about getting a 95 mustang gt, she has a perfect idle. but after about 3,000 rpms she cuts in and out and struggles to even gain about 2 mph and doesnt gain any power and wraps much slower and i don't think that i can get it to wrap all the way to redline

it has the 5.0 H.O. in it and it has flowmaster mufflers but it doesnt come completely out the back and it has K&N intake on it.

The salesman is telling me that i needs a programmer chip because its sucking in to much air and running lean. I don't think thats what is happening. He says its because there is no back pressure in it because it has no restrictions.

Anybody by chance know whats wrong with it. I think its timing but i dont know alot.

?

thanks,

Donald

its either fuel, ignition, or timing. If i had to guess i'd say bad fuel pump.

id tell the salesman (who i bet doesnt know the cause of high rpm miss from a hole in his rear) to fix it, if its so easy to do. why would he sell a car that runs like poo if it has a "known cure?"
just me. good luck.
there are many reasons that it could be doing this.

Have the dealer dump the codes and fix the items that the computer spits out. Autozone and some other auto parts stores will do it for free.

Before you buy the car, have them do a tune up with plugs, wires, cap, rotor, and fuel filter. The MAF sensor should be removed & cleaned since you said it has a K&N filter. K&N filters usually have a light oil coating to help trap dirt. If the filter is over oiled, it coats the MAF element and causes poor performance.
