Price for Header Install

A shop close to my area quoted me $400 for header & o/r h-pipe install on my 07 GT. Just wondering if this was a fair price?

Long tube or shorty? For long tube, that seems ok, though a bit on the high side. I figure for pro's this is at most a 4 hour job, at $65 an hour.

I've seen people pay $600 to $800. I think $400 is fair for longtubes.

what should i figured for a shop just doing my off-road hpipe, i already have flowmasters on the car w/ the stock hpipe..

they charge like 80 bux an hour. I'm thinking between 50-80bux.. like 30mins to an hour for them to do it w/ their tools , zip zip zip.

I would expect a minimum of 1 hour for the h pipe install.

how could it take them more than 1 hour! its a hpipe! hopefully a max of 1 hour. lol

Yeah, really. I installed mine on my back in about an hour. Finding a shop to install an off-road pipe might be difficult. But if you do, I think 1 hour would be the max.

I live in Florida we dont have Inspection.

I'm gonna go to the exhaust shop who put my flows on, see what they say they should do it, they have a f'n Roundy-Roundy Race Car (circle tracks)

I can't tell ya the last time anything took me as long as it calls for. That's how you make money and stay in business.

Edit: It actually calls for 1.4 hours to remove and replace the cat pipe.

shops usually have a one hour minimum for something like this. kinda like diagnostic time, usually an hour minimum.

Learn to be an expert.

For what labor cost, go buy the tools that you need and do the job yourself. You will get more satisfaction out of doing it yourself anyway.

I live in a Gated Condo Community, you aren't allowed to do detailed car work in the parking lot.. im 25 = \ miss my old house i grew up in back in nj o well, im in FL now. o well right..
