How have you all done on buying your 05's? When I test drove it, the dealer thought I'd bend over and let him have his way with me! I am thinking of having a service deal for the car for me. I can afford to wait, as this car will sit in my garage all winter. My wife (God Bless her) wanted me to just buy the car, but this guy wanted $5K over sticker. Unreal. I'm just the type that has to get a good deal on the car or it will eat at me.
Let me know how you have all done, Thanks!

Paid 495 over dealer invoice...1600 under msrp. With no special plans.
Had to order it ....but ... I like my money ...in MY pocket.
It took six dealers to find 2 willing to deal under msrp......but once I did...I played them against each other. It took 2 weeks to make my deal final.
PATIENCE IS THE KEY........ Do NOT pay over msrp!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ordered on 10-18
build date- week of Dec. 6 (next week)
looking for delivery before christmas (I hope)

I paid MSRP. 3 other guys were trying to buy the car when I bought it. Doesn't leave much bargaining room.

never pay MSRP on an "ordered" Mustang

I ordered mine about 10 days ago and similar to one of the previous posters, I got mine for about $1600 under MSRP. Considering that I am in the Milwaukee area and winter is a commin', there is no big rush (although I admit, I still want it ASAP).

When it comes to Mustangs on the lot at the dealership, I wouldn't be suprised about dealers charginging MSRP+$$$$. For my money, I couldn't justify buying it off the lot if it cost me that much. When you order one, it doesn't affect their allotment, etc... so there is NO, absoulutely NO reason to pay MSRP if you can tolerate the wait to order one. No matter how much a dealer or that dealer will tell you that this is a "limited production" car (all cars are limited production to a certain extent), one can be ordered today and you will get it 4-16 weeks later.

Never let them rake you over the coals on this. Don't get me wrong, it you have the money to burn, knock yourself out and pay through the nose to get one today.

Just my opinionated opinion!

I paid sticker price for mine. Paying anything over that is unthinkable to me, but I'm not going to judge anyone who is willing to pay over sticker price just to be the first on the block to have a new Mustang. I hope that nobody pays over sticker so as to discourage price hiking. If I was told, "the price is sticker PLUS 5 GRAND", I'd have to leave before I took a swing at the salesperson.

I paid MSRP for the first 05 Stang sold out of Rye, Ford. I actualy bought it before it arrived at the dealer ( Saw it on forddirect.com ) . They had at least a dozen others call about it while waiting for it to arrive at the dealer but I had already put a payment down so they were turned away.

Payed X-plan, here! Their not going to allow anyone more when the time comes to trade-in or if you do sell outright, just because you payed a mark-up or MSRP now will they? You loose that extra money.

My dealership is charging 3K over sticker MSRP.

I'm paying $1500 below MSRP with delivery next week... but my X-plan may save me even more! Guess I'll have to wait and see.

Ordering on-line, and doing as much over the internet as possible seems to have saved me a few bucks. If you can wait.... do it!

so you think he would make 7 figures if he woud have bought the mustang 500 over invoice?? you can be a spender no matter how much you make,, what he meant is he didnt mind spendin the MSRP because he has money left over anyways cause he makes good money,,,, does your boss pay you more the less items you buy for suggested retail price !??
