I just had those installed on my car. I shopped around and the best price I saw was about 600 bucks. on the 4.6 the headers are very hard to get to. It take about 6 to 7 hours to do. in California that cost 6 to 700 bucks, but maybe in Houston it coast less. So go by hours, 6 to 7 hours x $$/hr in your area

I did the install myself with my dad.. took us about 25 hours total (3 days) then it leaked the first time it ran. So, I went and got new gasket and spent 2 days (BY MYSELF) took everything apart (yes include the K-member dropping) and reinstall the driver side headers with new gaskets. No more leak after that and my car ran perfect! (for about a week now and still going)

Although everyone said that they don't want to drop the K-member because of the alignment problem.. I dropped it 2 times in 2 week and does not have any problem at all..

Wow, didn't know it took so long(even the 6-7hr figure) for a header install on a stang, I guess I learn something new here everyday This question is to anyone/everyone just out of curiosity, wouldn't it be a lot easier(and quicker in some cases) to remove the entire engine to install the headers?

Yeah, but removing the entire engine is one hell of a task.

I paid $300 to have them professionally installed. It took 8 hours to do the install. When I went back to pick up my car, the installer said that the $300 that he quoted was too low for all the work he had to do. Anyways, I paid $300...as he said at the beginning. I guess I was lucky, becuasetwo weeks after I took a friend to the same shop and the installer wanted to charge him $500 for the same work.

500 is very reasonable even considering the work that has to be done to get the long tubes on correctly...
