Hey guys, I need to degear my car a bit so it is not topping out at the track. I'm also taking the opportunity to make the bump to 31spline so that I can run my ET Streets.

Where are the best prices going for FMS 3.73s, Superior 31 spline axles and Cobra differential?

Hmm and to make this a tech thread, has anyone broken a Superior 31 spline axle? Details? Oh yeah and to solidify this in tech, my install cost for labor will be $275 from the best gear installer in the area who said he would do the install and teach me the tricks of the trade since gears are about the only thing I haven't messed with.

my uncle recently installed superior 31 spline axles and they made a difference along with a new trac lok on his 60ft time. it was 1.75 i believe. thats a good deal for installing gears.

gears are easy to do. I changed back to 3.27 for my trip 2 weeks ago.

www.buyfordracing.com had the cheapest gears when I got mine. They should be the same now.

where did you get those.



I got my gears through www.buyfordracing.com I got a set of 3.73's last year. I also bought 31 spline axles but I went with Moser. I got them through www.summitracing.com I also got the 31 spline differential through buyfordracing.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys.

I've been cutting mid 1.7 60fts before all my latest mods on my Nittos, looking to get well into the 1.6s now with the "real" tires and additional mods.

Best I ever got with Nitto's was 1.9 but the track prep where I go is not the best. A set of MT DR's solved that.

Just so you know you dont need a cobra diff, you can get the clutches alone from the cobra and install those, i believe thats the only difference other than probably the 31 spline thing, lol But thats not a biggy. And i know you can get the clutches from the coba and install those because we have done it already in a fox of a friend of mine

That's how I do it too. I just have Summit price match everything. Especially after getting the shaft from buyfordracing.
