Primary Fuel pump circuit failure code.

I had that code stored on mine when I bought the car, erased it and it never came back. Usually those tend to show up as a ghost code, where the fuel pump circuit could have became open for a split second at some point, but only that one time. Personally I wouldn't think anything of it. But if you'd be having fuel system issues, I would be inclined to think the problem would be worse at high rpm's than at low. Don't waste money on a new CCRM, seems you've got juice going to the pump to run the engine, so that checks out.

But here is what makes me think thats the culprit.

When I changed my HB I had to remove the CCRM. The relay that Im getting the code from is in the CCRM IIRC. And I didnt have this problem untill RIGHT after I change my HB. Im guessing I damaged the circuit. Ive unplugged it and tightened it down more than once, but to of no avail.

EDIT: And you can REALLY hear it with my straight pipes now.

Eric, you know my thoughts. Now I'll just try to help you figure something out. If it's a damaged wire, a new CCRM won't help.

Did you ever consider a little LED on the feed wire to the pump? I think you might get lucky and have the pump wiring running down the driver rocker panel, making it quite easy to tap into and run to a location of your choice. You'd use the LED light as a panel light and simply note if it burps off while driving.

Good luck bud.

I plan on doinf that with a biddies multimeter this weekend.

And "If Im lucky"? Im assuming not all cars have the wires there?

All I wouls need to do it splice into the (+) wire and ground the other end right?

Unless it happens often, it'd be hard to watch the DMM (they have an averaging feature of sorts - if it's a really quick loss of power, it'll be hard to catch).

I mentioned "lucky" because I haven't traced the FP wiring inside the car to know it's pathway.

Yep, you'd put your meter on the FP feed wire and ground the other lead of your meter or test light or LED (etc).

Good luck.

With an LED, you'd just run it in-line with the + fuel pump wire. Thats actually a pretty good tip from Hissin, I woulda never thought of doing that.

It happens almost every time I leave in it 2nd voming out of a turn and give it a little gas, and sometimes when I start off and then sometimes when I go to third.
