They're both great shifters, I'm getting the tri-ax since I'm going to go with steeda suspension. Pretty lame reason I know but you can't go wrong with either.

I don't know about the 5.0, but if you race quite a bit then the Steeda is awesome. Now I don't race, and I've actually regreted getting it. I don't like having to use a little more strength to shift, its harder than the stock one, the stock one was much more comfortable IMO
Many people will say otherwise though but thats just what I like I guess

get the pro 5.0. trust me it is great. so much more solid feeling. and smooth. plus you will not miss 2nd going into third. you just push slightly & it finds it's own way. i highly recommend it, as do most stang guys. goes great with my mgw adjustable shift handle. get it!!!!!!!

Save a few dollars and go with UPR Blue Thunder shifter. I just installed on on my car and it feels really nice and I've gotten nothing but compliments. Besides, we all know its a clone of the Tri-Ax.

Pro 5.0!!!! We have both and wished we would have waited to get another 5.0 for the 01. The Tri-Ax is nice, but not as race-like as the Pro 5.0.

Yep! Actually my wife and I have swapped handles - my Pro 5.0 handle on her Tri-Ax, and her Tri-Ax handle is on my Pro 5.0. Just for a different feel. It's an easy 5 minute change...

I asked this very question before ordering mine. I dont think you will get better than a 50/50 answer on this one. I went ahead and ordered myself a tri-ax because it was cheaper and seamed to get just as good of reviews as the more expensive pro 5.0. However, I cant give you any testimony on the performance of my tri-ax because when i went home on leave, the damn thing wasnt there.
I Found out later that my order was lost
After bitching at pro3i, my shifter is now on its way, so i can sit here in korea and immagine how nice it shifts.
THANKS PRO3I, YOU RULE!!!!!

Yea I used to like the stock one, but as the miles go by it seems to be getting worse and I have missed 3rd gear like 3 times since may 27 when I got it (1400+ miles). For a while 3rd was PERFECT, but now its hitting the something if I dont hit i PERFECTLY and stops before I hit 3rd....although it seems like after I moved my seat back a little(for more comfort) I started having these problems, so I moved it back forward a little the other day after I missed it again and I will se what happens.Anyways I will go with the pro 5.0, because I have heard ALOT less complaints about hearing the trans, and shifting effort.Heck I have heard alot less complaints overall about the pro 5.0...now that I think about it, the only thing I have heard is like the shifter handle is to short or somthing....anyone have a pic of a pro 5.0 installed in their 99+ stang????How about a triax too if someone else has a pic of that, that may make all the difference right there for someone, LOOKS.
