Howdy. After spending nights and days and frustration (that damn power steering bolt), it turns out that number 1 and 2 cylinders have NO, ZERO, compression. Oh, and the other cylinders have between 175 and 186 psi. That seems high to me, but I'm sure it's probably normal after a headswap.
These were used heads, and I now realize that I should have at least turned the cams on the heads before I installed them. If it's a valve problem, what are the odds of it happening in TWO cylinders?
If it's a head gasket, warped, or cracked head (between the two cylinders?) wouldn't there be SOME pressure?
Any ideas? I realize that either way I have to pull the head off.
OHHH! I just realized that it could be the cam followers (that would save me hours and hours), but that's not likely because I had the valve covers off yesterday and though I wasn't looking specifically at them, I didn't see anything out of place.
