Problem with B_m_ch_ps

I've never had any problems with Bamachips at all and Doug has always proved to be a stand-up guy. He does do most of the work himself, so in the recent year or two, his turnaround has gotten slower as business has increased, but your timeline is well beyond what would be accepted. I noticed you said you emailed him a few times, then disputed. Did you ever try to call? Last I knew he got over 100 emails a day.

I'm sorry to hear you're having issues receiving your tuner. He has on his website a statement saying he is behind on orders, and is not taking any new parts orders to help him catch up on the existing orders from the holidays and before. If losing new business to honor existing customers isn't an example of being a stand up business man, then I don't know what is.

I do take issue with you labeling him as not being a stand up guy, because you assume too much in your one encounter with his website and his business. He IS a stand up guy, but unfortunately you are a casualty in the online shopping business where issues like this can arise. Please be patient while you await your refund, but try not to bad mouth someone you personally don't know.

Lets keep a cool head here folks. We allow feedback to be given here for a reason. Its not all going to be roses, so sometimes you need to take the good with the bad, no matter what kind of success someone else might have had with a company.

There's no need to get personal with one and other because of differing opinions.

In any case, this isn't a Tech post and will be moved to the general discussion area.

i can vouch for him being good also. i understand how you feel about not getting your order though.

there was a thread somewhere about what was going on with him. if i remember correctly basically everyone he had working for him screwed him over or something, and then going thru something in his personal life. and i think now hes the only one running his site.

been running his tune on my car for about a year now, looking to get a new tune for some parts i've ordered, and pretty sure i'm going with him again.

Again, I'll ask. Have you called him? You sent two emails then filed a PayPal dispute (which is pretty stand-offish for not having had a conversation with the guy). He's not an eBay punk. He runs an established and well-trusted business. I'm not sticking up for him on the turn-around. There's something wrong here. Seems to me your order got lost in the shuffle or something. But either way. You should have made a phone call. Doug really is a great guy. A lot of people have dealt with him and will vouch for him. So when you come on a forum and blast him and his business (after not following the proper and polite way of dealing with your issue), you're likely to get negative posts.

ok

BamaChips apology from doug himself... - WWW.S197FORUM.COM

However with that posted, Doug has been really putting his reputation out on the line lately.. I've seen cases where people aren't even receiving orders and he took their orders over the phone. I've seen about 5 cases on other forums where people ended up having to file a dispute with their credit card companies.

Hey lets kick him while he is down....lets recommend my buddies place too....ya that's cool.

This isn't about kicking him when he's down. I was very disappointed about the whole situation. If you can't fulfill an obligation the ethical thing to do is to refund a person's money. Now he doesn't have to deal with an angry customer. He has to deal with Visa and they will get back their money from him and probably worst. Don't understand why he didn't do the right thing at first and save us all of this grief. Pretty sad huh!
