Hey guys I have a question about my cowl good. When I got the car the one side of the cowl grill was broken and I never really thought about why. I noticed everytime i open my hood there is a part of the cowl hood that rubs on the cowl grill and lifts it up partly. Its no big deal now but when I start restoring this car I dont want it to do that anymore. I was wondering if it is possible that my hood isnt aligned properly? The hood seems to fit pretty well and I don't know what could be causing this. I uploaded a video on youtube but its still processing and I will post it when its ready.

looks like it needs to be pulled back the tiniest bit. it also looks like no one removed any material in the back before painting it. cowl looks like it archs back at a 45* angle

usually material needs to be removed prior to paint, keeping in mind the thickness the paint will add to keep proper gaps. also, when you lift your hood up, does it hit into the wiper blades? sometimes ya cant do anything about that one

Maybe the cowel cover can be loosened and moved back a bit to give you the clearance you need?

I had a 2.5" Champion Fiberglass hood that did the same thing, i didn't have time to fix the problem before the hood flew off the car because someone stole my hood pins....
