I just finished installing tokico illumina struts, frpp cobra front control arms, MM c/c plates, and a steeda bumpsteer kit on my car and now the front sits higher, i have the eibach pro-kit springs and now it looks like its stock height again? what could be causing this? thanks in advance

I haven't lowered my car yet .... but I hear that it will require some time for the springs to settle. I don't know if it should be factory height at first, though.

Also, did you remove the isolators?

Did you preload the suspension before tightening the LCA bolts?

Nice choices on parts - that's my style.

Good call on the suspension load. Also make sure you aligned the coil springs correctly in the lower control arm, there is a little pocket kind of for the end of the coil to sit in.

that would be my guess to. double check to make sure the springs are seated correctly.

i did preload the suspension. i loosened the bolts and retorqued them when i had it on the lift for the alignment just to make sure and i double checked the springs to make sure they were seated properly. it shouldnt take any time for it to settle because the springs were on the car previously.

its a shot in the dark and i really doubt it, but are you sure the shocks arent binding on anything when you put load on the suspension that is keeping them from compressing all the way?

I also think you should check for binding. The shocks are seated properly in the CC plates right? How long did you drive it before you noticed? I would drive it for 50-100mi. to let the struts break in a bit and let the springs resettle (from having it on the lift etc). Let us know how many miles you have driven it since the install and well go from there.

old struts were totally shot so i have considered that could possibly be it. i couldnt find anything binding but would the spacers on the top of the strut that come with the c/c plates change the ride height?? also, anyone with tokico shocks, what setting do you use for the street and what setting for the strip??

I installed the same springs a few weeks ago and I am disappointed in the results....the rears look like they sag (compared to the front) and the rear will bottom out from time to time (yes, I installed the small bottom out bumper)......but the fronts look like they have not been lowered much if at all. I have looked closely to make sure that the springs are properly in the slots in the LCA's, so that the tip of the spring is in the lower part of the well, and it appears to be fine.

One thing though, I installed the energy supsension isolators on the lower and the upper of the spring and those things are pretty thick on the bottom, so maybe that is something that will settle. I would consider taking them off, but that may just create a squeek, which is about the most infuriating sound coming from a car.

I would have bought the Sportlines, but someone wrote that they had a frequent bottom out problem....so that made me choose the Pro-Kit.

HOWEVER, it does handle 10x better on the turns with the new springs, and that is with Monroe Sensatrac's (lifetime warranty, til I can buy some real springs). My tires stick like glue now, so I am wired to get some real shocks and see how much better it will handle.

i liked how my car sat before. the pro-kit has been on the car for over a year and was the height i wanted, just now after the other parts it sits higher
