ok we just put my friends car (95auto) together we used a 99 explorer motor with its intakes he put a mild cam in it that was degreed in professionally, it apears to be weak and not running very well we have played with timing but seeing the harmonic balancer apears to have no markings on it besides one line in it that doesnt show under a timing light. also whats a good way to check for vacuum leaks. and the sucker is running real ruff not just from the cam and has a really weak low end also just dies at times and has a back fire thats random and doesnt happen often

Ok as for markings on the balancer, there should be marks there, maybe just suface rusted over a little, mine were, sand down the entier thing real good and put white marks on it, one large one at the 10* marks and a few around it, smaller ones, set your timing to 10*, sounds alot like a timing issue to me.

what injectors/MAF was used?

double & teipple check that you dont have any of the plug wires mixed up
