I just got my magnapack catback installed two night ago. I noticed when I left the place that when I went over a dip in the road, that caused my car to bounce a bit, it made this popping sound from the back of my car, like something smacking metal. I ignored it, but this morning it is still persisting. I know it had something to do with the catback install. I crawled last night under my car and made sure all of the bolts were tightened, and looked for any signs of it hitting anything, but I cant see any problems. Its starting to worry me now. Any suggestions what would be causing this? It doesnt make noise if I go over a bump, but if the road has a dip in it then you can hear the popping / banging.

It's probably either the passenger side tube hitting the axle, or the driverside banging the frame.

My Mac hit the axle when I first put it on, but you can adjust it out of the way.

It is probably hitting your sway bar, mine did the same thing, look for marks on the sway bar

and if so? is it easy to adjust? I assume I would just loosen up the bolt and twist the pipes in place? I had a friends dad (that works for ford) install it for me. Maybe Ill just call him..... Makes me feel better when other people have had the same problem.....Misery loves Company

Yes you can just loosen the clamps. Look for it hitting the frame or control arms where the tailpipes go over the axle as well, that is where I had noise. You may have to to readjust your tips after you get it all set.

Well...I called the guy that installed it and he is going to look at it and fix it for me on Monday. Is it better to have these systems welded instead of using the clamps? Or are the clamps dependable. I think I will still get some Loctite and put it on the hex bolts that hold the hangers in place after I get this fixed.

Don't weld because it will mess up the finish on the pipes and later on down the road the welded areas may start to rust.
