Problems with my 5.0!

I just got a LX vert and i'm havin a few problems with it. For some reason when i turn on the a/c or heater the air only blows out of the vents that defog the windsheild and not out of the vents in the **** pit, and hte air doesnt turn hot, just stays cool. Also the speedo, odometer, and trip meter do not function at all, but the other gauges like gas level and tachometer work. Also the drivers side windsheild wiper doesnt move, but the passenger side does. As for the motor, it runs. But It doesnt feel like it pulls as hard as its supposed to, i've driven a stock gt convertable, same year and it felt nothign like it. when i tap the throttle to rev the engine, the engine hesitates and revs about a second after i hit the gas. can anyone help me or give me an idea of what the problems can be or have any suggestions? i wanna get this puppy on the streets by the time summer hits, so i'm trying to see what i can do to get it out there. Oh yah..i'm a total newbie to mustangs so if my questions are weird forgive me. I'm currently driving a civic :bang: and i cant wait to get my pony on the streets!

A/C probably need recharging to get cool air. TO fix the venting, look under the dash on the right of the center console. You should see a yellow vacuum line that should hook to a under dash mounted brass colored can. It's probably not hooked up. Chack all other vacuum lines if it is.

Sounds like the linkage is broke. Remove the cowl to see in front of the windshield to access the linkage.

Did you tune it up lately? If not, then do that first, clean the throttle body and then scan for codes.

Like Lx302 said, you have a vacuum leak that is not letting your vents open. Check the lines he mentioned and also check the small black vacuum line that runs along the top of the firewall under the hood. Mine was broken and I had the same symptoms. I just replaced that line and it was as good as new.

thanks fellas, u helped a lot..It has been sitting around a lot of the time that i've had it, so i'm gonna get a major tune up done once it gets smogged and registered.. smog is gonna be a headache since i have the a xpipe exhaust with no cats..and im in CALI! :notnice:

I've been lucky when it came to smog and no cats. Seven years of luck and hopefully I can squeeze anothing year this year! :D

Good luck on the stang. We all have to start somewhere but once you learnen about the potential there's no turning back!
