problems with wiring on starter, kind of techy.

Thought i had everything back together but i can't figure out why the low amperage starter wire isnt sending out power when i turn the key over. I put a test light on it while i was doing it to make sure it wasn't the starter and nothing.

I also swapped the relays around just to make sure that wasn't the problem. So now im really confused.

I have two possible problems that i can think of:

One, Im hooking the starter wire up to the wrong connector. Does the starter wire connect to the grey w/pink strip wire coming out of the fuse panel under the hood/fender? ITs the only connector that i found that fit what i think is the wire that went to the starter.

two, i missed hooking a harness back up or got one switched around. I have looked over everything and everything besides the abs, speed sensor, reverse light, lights, and airbag sensors are hooked up.

Were exactly does the wire run that was supposed to be hooked up to the starter? To hide things i extened it, but maybe i exteneded the wrong one?

Another thought. Sense relays have to be grounded maybe im missing a ground? Right now i have the frame grounded to the battery and the motor is grounded to the frame. Is there some grounds i may have disconnected not thinking about it?

All my lights and stuff in the car work along with my alarm.

ok... with the test light i figured out that the relay wasn't getting any ground, i found two small ground wires towards the front on each side. I grounded them and now i have ground at the relay.

Tryed it again and nothing. I checked and im not getting any signal from the ignition at the relay.

So im lost again. What would cause a loss of signal from the ignitions besides the clutch safety switch? I pushed down the dead clutch pedal and didn't get anything either.

Other things i don't have hooked up are the speed sensor/reverse, I don't have the AC hooked up either.

Now i have 3 small harness that i haven't figured out what they went to. Everything on the motor is hooked up far as i know now. I may take some pictures and see if people can identify them.

Do some testing at the starter relay in your underhood fusebox. If there's an issue, you can deduce which way to go from which terminal doesnt have what it should.

If you are not getting a crank-trigger signal to the underhood-fusebox relay (FWIW, I call the starter's piggyback solenoid a solenoid, and the underhood relay is a relay), I like your idea to check I/O cranking voltage at the clutch safety switch.

Good luck.

well today i tested the switch at the clutch, and it was getting signal and letting signal out. So now im not really sure were to look now.

I'd go back to the starter relay in the underhood fusebox. Look for power leaving the normally open terminal at that relay. If good, go to the piggyback solenoid and test incoming voltage.
