Hey---

Well my Prochamber arrived today but I am running into a snag removing the stock H pipe. All the bolts came out easily and great except for the passenger side near the header . Those two bolts are pretty much unreachable with extensions and a swivel. My buddy suggests removing the starter to have better access. I have removed two starter bolts but it won't budge. How many starter bolts are they and where can they be located?

Thanks!
JP

Thats weird. IIRC, I used the following combonation from the ratchet to the socket:

Ratchet--->8 or 10" extension--->universal--->4" extension--->socket

Took about 5min or less to get them off.

I ran into the same problem with my x-pipe. I just got a longer extension and took my time. I didn't need to remove the starter, but if you must, just be careful.

Good Luck

You don't need to remove the starter. Just get creative with your socket extensions. You DO need a swivel and some different size extensions to get to it. It can be done.

I agree with everyone else, its just a matter of the right combinations of extensions. Some people have reported problems with using a sockets that are too deep.

Bingo...thanks guys! Looks like the socket itself was a little too big defeating the whole purpose of the swivel. Cool now I am cooking with crisco

Glad you got it figured out. There are three starter bolts - the two you got out are the "easy" ones. There's one more on top of the starter. I taught myself several new word combinations putting it back in after installing my long tubes.

Yea the prochamber install is a pain in the ass. Its alot harder than just simply unbolting and bolting up the new pipe like people make it out to be.

As others have suggested...a swivel socket will help you greatly. See if you can find a big extension and a smaller extension and then put a swivel socket inbetween those two. I can't remember the sizes i used but after about 45 minutes of messing around with it we figured it out and popped them off.

LOL yeah, I had to run extensions out below the exhaust manifold, but just above the motor mount hump, between some hoses and to the front of the k member....

Wow....well she is finally in...thanks for all the tips... it was bear thats for sure. The passenger side alone probably took an hour to get everything situated and tight. Now I am presented with another issue.....I have MILs and they are installed but on the way home i had a nice "Service Engine Soon" light appear. Any ideas what trigged this and why? I checked and made sure everything was plugged in and that checked out.

One odd thing about the MILs was I had to cut the two plastic tabs off o2 male connector for it to fit into the MIL female connector. This was only needed on the passenger side.

Wow...on the positive side....the sound is unreal , hopefully the burning smell of the new pipes will dissappear soon because it really stinks .

Daver01---

Wow I don't like the sound of that...Dallas Mustang MILs here too...my light came on about 10 minutes after install. I guess I will be calling them on Monday, if they don't do what they are intended for I hope they refund me my $$$. At least this way I will have $60.00 to apply to a chip. With what few mods I have I don't think I really would benefit from a chip....how much do they run anyways?

gave 300 for an sct custom. prob can get a cheaper one. i'd just wait til i got gears or had some more mods though. some people can get MILS to work fairly well for them; but i never had any luck, always came back on @ some point. ses was on prob 9 months of the year i had them.

also, dallas mustang was kinda um, unsupportive. don't even bother with their web page help board or emailing. just call em & raise hell. talking to them got me nowhere, results-wise. they offered me a new set. i told em that the set i had was new & they didn't work, so why would i want another set. hope u have better luck with em.
