I am going to tell you a story. It is fictional, and only for your entertainment.

Once upon a time ...

Suppose that you are driving a 95 GT behind a mid-90's Acura Integra (an ugly one at that -- all primer, with the requisite fart pipe). You've come up on this Acura doing somewhat over the speed limit. As you exit a corner and onto a two mile long straightaway, the Acura romps on it and tries to run -- so you, thinking that your H/C/I 5.0 is pretty zippy, decide to give chase just for fun. Only to find out that by the time you've reached say, 100 mph, you're gaining, but not exactly in danger of running him over.

:bang: :bang: :bang:

Even with a pathetic 279 rwhp, a 5.0 should be able to make short work of a frickin Integra. It shouldn't be work.

And everyone lives happily ever after...

Never know with those tegs what they have lurking underneith. Could be the worst looking most riced out thing you've ever seen on stock steelies and still have something rockin under the hood. I drove my friends Bone Stock GSR to a 15.7. You should be able to romp one.

BTW: IMO street racing's no judge of which one's truely the faster car.

The second fastest car I've ever driven is my buddy Drew's Integra. It looks completely stock except exhaust, and he even has the gauges out of plain view, except a tach on the dash. It has a jackson racing supercharger and a 75 shot of n20. And you would never know it looking at it, he even hides the NOS canister behind the sub box in his trunk. I've been in the car and watched him eat an '03 cobra like nothing without touching the juice. Don't feel bad, some import owners do know how to bolt on more then a 3 tier wing and vinyl graphics.

It's cool dude you just never know what under the hood of imports these days. Some of those mofos have bored out V-Tecs with turbos and even n2o on them capable of 12's. They look totally stock and move like lightning when at speed already. My wife is currently driving an Accord that is a total sleeper that runs 13's with a baby seat in the back.

Just take it out on the next one you see on the street and you will feel better :p

I at least have an excuse, came up with it this morning :). 95* yesterday afternoon and according to my logs (I was datalogging the entire trip home) my ECT was at 210. No wonder it was pinging a little. :rlaugh:

Seriously, though, my car really shows a noticable preference towards cold weather. This morning it was maybe 60* and the car was just up to temperature, and I wrapped it up getting into the freeway, it felt much happier. Also in retrospect maybe I should have downshifted, I was in fourth, and starting from 45 mph I would probably have gone faster starting in third...

So there are my excuses. And that's all they really are. It's not as if I lost, anyway, just didn't perform as well as I expected.

I need to get this bastard onto a dyno and do some tuning. Ever since I did the Fox swap it's been very piggy -- this morning my eyes actually started to water while I was sitting at a light -- they're still a little sore now. Maybe the cats will have to go back on...

:nonono: yes you should have nailed it into third the results would have been much better.
Good god are you kidding me??? You should have been in 2nd, if you have 3.73s like me 1st goes to like 35mph and then 2nd goes to like 62 or so. I downshift to 2nd anything below 60. No wonder this happened in story book land. If that would have been a real race, then i would definatly drop to 2nd from then on.

Dave- Does your ECT number fluctuate when your datalogging. Mine never changes. It just pops up with a number when I start datalogging and never changes.
What version of CalCon are you using -- I used to have trouble logging ECT, but that was a known issue that was supposed to be fixed in 1.30. I'm using 1.30A9 right now -- here is what my ECT looks like (coincidentally, this is my datalog from yesterday afternoon):
