hi...i put some aluminum underdrive pulley on my 88 gt...ive gone thru 2 belts.
it looks like my alt pulley is off some...is it ok to shim it or put the stock pulley back on...i thought they were the same thing size and width...i got the pulleys from texasmustang.. any other suggestions would be great...if anyone else has had this problem...thanks in advance....

If you have to use a flat washer to shim the pulley out a bit it will be fine. It won't affect the charging ability of the alternator.

It should be O.K. to shim it, as long as its not excessive.

thanks for responding...i didnt need to shim at all...somehow the fan on the alt got bend out enough to hit the belt...alt was goin anyway...have any of u had problems with alts from napa...im on my third since november...anyway problem fixed..thanks
