Pulleys and 3.73 Gears in...

Hey guys. Since you checked to see the results of a 3.73 R&P swap, I want to know what rpm does the engine turn in OD (AODE) at 55 and 70 mph with OE tire size for a 94 GT? How about those with 4.11's? I am trying to decide which ratio to get. Thanks!

TheDamned,

What size motor do you have? You're going to notice that you are shifting into high gear at about 55 miles per hour if you have the stock motor and manual transmission, and you baby it like I do. But, you get there a lot quicker, :)

I know mine is going to be awesome when my stroker is done. I already have the 373's and I am happy with them as long as my high end can get extended a little with the 347.

If you expect high-end, wellll..........you just screwed that up, LOL. Off the line though, I was breaking the wheels loose up to third with my stock motor. Of course, then my transmission rear seal went, and that was another story. Hell the car had 105K on it.

I was always told that what ever everyone recommends (i.e., 4.10's) for an automatic, go one lower with a manual.

Hey guys back from my 1st ride, maybe I was expecting too much but the ride is def. better that's for sure! The 1st gear is hella fast and the 2nd pulls like a moda****ah even on a stock motor! I got the u\d pullies in aswell, how much HP gain is that on a 5.0 ? I feel that the motor pulls alot more in high rpms.

I know a guy with a fox 5.0 and he dynoed a 12 HP difference at the wheels.

Gears do not add horsepower, they just change the torque multiplier making your car seem like it has more h/p when it really is the same as before the gear swap.
