should i get underdrive pulleys with a harmonic balancer also( or is it a fluid dampener). can you take off the stock balancer and replace with a different one without subjecting the crank to damage. this prob. wont give hp but may balance the bottom end better . any info would be great. thx vynle. p.s what underdrive pulleys would be the best i know steeda are cheaper than saleens set or was it roush want good quality with fair price thx. i hav a 05 gt no mods as of yet.

As far as I understand underdrive's extend the life of the engine, so I'd go for it. I got em on my 97 with 100k and the thing runs a lot smoother, so I am assuming they will do you some major justice. March performace really is not that bad, but if you want to spend money go with the saleens. My 2 cents...

I was thinking of bolting on a set as well, but someday I would like to install a blower. Would I have to ditch the UD pullies and go back to stock so the blower would work correctly or could I change the blower pully to compensate?

Steeda under-drive pullies are very good.

I've noticed a nice kick in the butt in the mid-RMP range.

Any set you buy will be a PITA to install, as getting the old harmonic balancer off can be a challenge. It is a tight fit.

As for a blower.... better keep the stock balancer and water pump pullies because YES it matters.
I do not know of any blower mnfct that have a blower pully to comphensate for those with under drive pullies installed.
God only knows what pressure you would be running IF the belt even fit.

Happy under-driving!
