It might make it easy for you to start the car. But wouldn't it also make it easy for thieves?
I see no practical use for the thing myself.

I live in a part of the country where we still don't lock the doors of our houses , even when on vacation, theft isn't a big concern. also they do have a fob you need to have with you to start the car.... just curious about ease of installation

I am a bit confused. If you want to get it because you can't keep track of keys why is the fob going to be easier to keep track of? My key came with with a fob.

I just am not sure what the whole point of the push to start is beside a thing to say look at what I can do.

I would think someone probably makes a kit to do it but I have never seen one.

Here's what I've found.

http://home.comcast.net/~mustangtony/starterbutton.htm

I like these buttons.

Color coded.

Hey do what you want.

I am genuinely curious why someone would want one.

interesting , from the link it looks like it would require a key anyway..not to mention a little more dashboard surgery than I want to take on.....
I thought it would be more like the keyless options on some of the luxury rides out there. some day my dream will come true and I'll have a vehicle that the door/ trunk / ignition are done with a combination rather than a key.... I never forget a number , but spend half my life looking for my keys.

Yes, you still need a key.

Otherwise, a car theif would just drive off with your baby...

Some electronics wiz could probably come up with a digital code entry pad to work with the "START" button.
